Take a young child and sit them in front of a piano with music books, and they may eventually play the notes on the page. But there is a depth and richness to music that comes only from standing in the midst of a whirlwind. That’s where the real music starts to take shape- the kind that speaks to the core of your soul and cries out for what you were created for. It’s only when you’ve stood here, that you are finally ready to sing.
That’s Andrew’s story. After receiving a guitar for his 14th birthday, the whirlwind started. Over the next few years, songwriting became the safest place to express what was happening inside- feelings like deep sorrow at the loss of a loved one, anger at a broken world, and the experience of hopelessness in a heart longing for a glimmer of hope. Andrew’s songs wrestle with these emotions and give expression to the desires and longings that exist inside the human heart- the desire to know and be known and to find hope in the struggle.
From releasing the worship singles Come to the Table and All of My Hope, to the 5-song Find My Way Home EP, and the new single Hey Jackie, Andrew’s music has been a journey of discovery and growth.
